Lower Mobius is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog television series. It is an underground city that a group of inhabitants from the former city of Mobotropolis created after Dr. Robotnik rose to power.
Description[]
Lower Mobius is an underground city located directly below Robotropolis. It can be accessed through various hidden underground pipes that run through Robotropolis, although only the town's residents have the appropriate vehicles and tools to safely cross through these tunnels. The entrance pipes to Lower Mobius often close and one needs a remote control to open them. The underground tunnels and pipelines connected to Lower Mobius are likewise patrolled by Ratbots built and abandoned by Dr. Robotnik. They keep unwanted intruders out of the city, but also pose a danger to the people in Lower Mobius. To keep the Ratbots out of the city, large metal doors block off the pipelines that lead to the city.
Lower Mobius itself is located in a spacious cave. The local buildings are rather small and made out of stone. The inhabitants also have their own chili dog stand. A large energy crystal in the roof of the cave is both a power source and light source for the city, making the entire Lower Mobius habitable.
All of the citizens of Lower Mobius appear to be of either the goat, pig, wolf or monkey species. They have attempted to continue on with a life as close to life in Mobotropolis was by having parks, growing flowers, opening shops and restaurants, etc. but none of the residents seem interested in fighting back.

Season one[]
Griff once led Sonic, Sally and Antoine to Lower Mobius after saving them from Swat-Bots in Robotropolis. When they arrived, Griff's friend Dirk greeted them before they entered the city. Meanwhile, Griff noticed that the energy crystal that illuminated the city would fade out from time to time. Despite this, Sonic and his friends received a warm reception. When Sonic tried to try out the local chili dogs however, Griff alerted everyone about the approaching Ratbots. After Sonic helped drive the Ratbots away, Griff became interested in the Power Ring Sonic used in the battle. Griff soon after met up with Dirk and learned that their energy crystal would soon cease working. Desperate, Griff decided to steal the energy source that made Knothole Village's Power Rings. Earing the favor of Sally, Griff made her agree to let him take her and her friends back to Knothole Village. Later, Griff returned to Lower Mobius and tried installing the Power Rock into their energy crystal. However, it was then that the city was attacked by Ratbots. The residents tried to defend themselves, but it was only after Sonic arrived that they finally defeated the Ratbots. Admitting what he did was wrong, Griff gave the Power Rock back to Sonic. Sonic, however, decided to divide their gift and gave Griff a fragment of the Power Rock so that Lower Mobius could survive for a while longer.
