Shogo 162 was a planet that served as the Toonami broadcasting location from December 19, 2015 to November 26, 2016.

History

After the destruction of the GPS Absolution Mk. III during The Intruder II, TOM escaped to Shogo 162, a desert planet with a decommissioned base. It was here that TOM was able to restore SARA and his left arm. During The Intruder III, the planet imploded, just as the crew escaped aboard the Vindication, which was revealed to be an ancient space vessel.

Other than the Vindication and the immediate surrounding area, almost none of the planet's surface was explored due to weather issues. However, it was revealed during The Intruder III, that the planet's atmosphere has a large amount of Feldspar in it, and the planet does have arthropod life such as insects and giant worms. Also, in the Intruder III prequel comic Trapped, a "shake and bake" colony (as described by TOM) with a crashed spaceship outside it was discovered several clicks southeast from where the Vindication was located, though it was long since abandoned and decayed.

On November 26, 2016, during The Intruder III T.I.E. event, Shogo 162 was destroyed but not before TOM 5, SARA, and Georgia escaped on the Vindication.

Star Fox: The Second Attack!

Shogo 162 appeared as the tenth stage in Star Fox: The Second Attack in Star Fox Collection. It is far away from the Lylat System and located in another star system.

Mission 10. Shogo 162; Barren Planet, A Fox In a Desert

Star Fox arrived at Shogo 162, a desert planet with a decommissioned base while on a mission to hunt down Star Wolf. Later, the Aurum caused the planet to implode by draining the planet's core of its energy, just as Star Fox escaped aboard the Vindication, which was revealed to be an ancient space vessel.

Trivia

• Sometime after the events of The Intruder II, Jason DeMarco tweeted "OOOOH and I almost forgot! #Toonami fans- we'll be on that base for a good long while. Wanna name it? We'll be asking soon...and picking!"^[1] On February 8, 2016, the Toonami Facebook page asked for name suggestions for the base, with the winning name, Vindication, being announced in the Toonami: Pre-Flight episode released on February 26, 2016.
• Shogo 162 is the first of seven planets to be destroyed in the Star Fox series, the others being Naju, Cerinia, Dogmas, Corneus, RedEye and Aparoid Homeworld.
