Dean McCoppin

Dean McCoppin is the tritagonist of The Iron Giant. He is voiced by Harry Connick, Jr.

Dean is a beatnik artist who makes a lot of junk. He becomes Hogarth's new stepfather towards the end of the film. He first met Hogarth, while he is at a Diner having something to eat. He first discovered the Giant, while Hogarth, and the Giant were looking for food. During the War, he tells Mansley, that the Giant has Hogarth with him. Dean and Annie try to take Hogarth to the Hospital, but Hogarth tries to find the Giant to stop being a gun. Towards the end of the film, Dean and Annie got married, and Dean constructed a statue to honor the Giant.
